Pomegranate - Norman Rockwell: The Connoisseur 1,000-piece Jigsaw Puzzle
The Connoisseur, 1962, cover for The Saturday Evening Post, by Norman Rockwell (American, 1894 1978)
An extraordinarily gifted and beloved illustrator, Norman Rockwell began his career at a fortuitous moment: new mass-market magazines were flourishing, entering the homes of millions of American families. Rockwell (1894 1978) sold more than three hundred covers to The Saturday Evening Post between 1916 and 1967, including The Connoisseur, which graced the cover of the magazine in 1962.
Through his warmhearted, sentimental, superbly wrought paintings, Rockwell told us stories of an idealized nation of small towns filled with kind, industrious people. In delivering a distillation of the way we wanted to see our country, his art reflected the currents of American life. By the 1940s Rockwell had become a living national treasure. Today his paintings are still widely admired, and his name is synonymous with a distinctly American era and way of life.
Thoughtfully conceived and engagingly intricate, our 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles combine superb color reproduction, stunning and unusual images, and sturdy construction to delight generations of novice and veteran puzzleworkers. Puzzle size: 20 x 25 in.
