Do You Have A 1977 Screaming Chicken In Your Collection?
The Pontiac Firebird, was originally conceived to be on par with Chevrolet's Corvette, but in the end it became the sister car to the Camaro.
Early productions of the Firebird were regarded as the pseudo luxury version of the Camaro. It didn't take long for the Firebird to develop it's own sense of style, performance and power, most notably with a huge hood decal that let the world know you were driving a Pontiac, not a Chevy.
Though the Firebird would never be the muscle car "cool kid" that the Camaro enjoyed being, the Firebird can make a claim that the Camaro cannot. The Firebird boasts two of the most identifiable vehicles in film: Burt Reynolds' 1977 Firebird Trans-Am from Smokey and the Bandit and David Hasselhoff's 1982 Firebird Trans-Am "KITT" from Knight Rider.
