During the 16th century, Spanishdesign was a unique blend of Renaissanceand Moorish design.In this table (or escritorio)we see how thetwo styles have been combined with a simple, square edged,plank table top and heavy carving on the table skirt and drawerfronts. Referred to as a long table, a term that supersedes thename refractory table which once applied to a table of this sizebut was changed C 1540 after the abolishment of the monasteriesduring the reformation, is supported on ring turned spindlelegs with spreader bas just above floor level. The four drawerfronts are decorated with a leaf carving and have ring styledrawer pulls. A similar carving has been repeated on the remainingthree sides of the table apron.Available in a walnut finish.21 2 H x 21 2 W x6 D
