From the charm of the waterwheel and rustic wooded creekside setting, to our specialty shoppe’s wonderful selection of unique gifts, treasure-finds and quality hobby and toy products and supplies, (which is constantly changing), and the warm smiles, help and conversation you get, not usually found in large department discount stores, we’ve become a regular go-to destination, if not a tradition, for many of our customer friends.
Oakridge Hobbies, a family owned and operated business, began in 1987 as a hobby craft kit manufacturer and catalog mail-order retailer, specializing in Scale Modeling, Model Railroading and Dollhouse Miniatures. In recent years Oakridge has grown and expanded its retail online presence into many new areas including 3D and Jigsaw Puzzles, Quality Adult and Children’s Crafts, Wildlife Christmas Ornaments, Home and Garden Decor, Wild & Backyard Birding including Bird Feeders, Birdhouses and Bird Baths, Factory Authorized Parts & Repair Center for ARRMA RC, Radio Flyer, Razor and Power Wheels Childrens Electric Ride-On Parts and Repairs. Plus, we now offer Consignment Services specializing in liquidation of estate and private collections of Vintage and Retro Toys, Trains and sought-after Collectibles through our Resale Shop … hence Oakridge Hobbies is now OakridgeStores.com.
In the Fall of 2025, we performed a complete reset of our historic downtown Lemont, IL location - a total remodeling, renovation and expansion - converting the majority of the building's space back into our previous retail specialty shoppes rendition and use of the space.
