Artisan made and created by Lily Bell Johnston. This is one of my favorite pieces from this artisan. The woman reminds of a well-known character in Great Expectations. For those of you who do not remember from high school! Miss Havisham is a character in Charles Dickens's 1861 novel Great Expectations. She is a wealthy spinster, once jilted at the altar, who insists on wearing her wedding dress for the rest of her life. She lives in a ruined mansion with her adopted daughter, Estella. The figure is 6" tall and is situated in a 6-sided glass display case with a mirrored back on three panels. The top of the case is hinged and opens easily.Carefully examine the figure- the dress is tattered and the lace is frayed at the edges. Her hair is disheveled and the face aged and unhappy. Wonderful piece that entailed a lot of work to get the Havisham in character...Please note certain components and/or details may be removed or disassembled for shipping . Some parts may have to be reassembled or cleaned up as they may have come loose during shipping
