The Great...
I'm building a model of the "biggest ship in the world" called the Great Republic and built by Donald McKay in East Boston in the years 1853. I have several books on this ship and some plans to go by but I'm making it way bigger than the plans at seven feet long by one foot wide. I'm using Midwest Products lumber for the construction as it is very stable and the sizes are always right. At this point I am about half way through the hull construction and I expect the finished ship to be done in about two more years.
